Professional Long-Arm Quilting Service

If you're looking for someone to quilt your tops, you need to be sure that the result will be the quality you expect. No-one wants to spend hours piecing a patchwork top only to worry about whether you can trust the long-armer who's finishing it, therefore please ask to see our work, please do!

It can be hard to manipulate a large quilt on a domestic sewing machine, especially if you have a small space to sew or mobility issues, some people love to piece patchwork but just don't enjoy the quilting, our professional long-arm quilting service is a perfect solution.

We offer a huge choice of quilting designs from simple edge-to-edge overall patterns right through to unique custom quilting. Pascale will help you to choose the perfect quilting pattern and thread colour to turn your pieced or appliquéd top into a beautiful quilt. We can also advise on wadding and backing fabrics to complement your work.

PREPARATION

To make quilting your creation effective and timely, please ensure the following:

Preparing the Quilt Top:

• Check all seams for gaps or loose stitches!
• Trim all loose threads from the front and back on both the quilt top and quilt back!
• Square your quilt top and backing fabric!
• Press the quilt top and make sure the seams lie as flat as possible!
• Mark the top of your quilt if directional. (A safety pin or piece of fabric loosely stitched near the top works well!)

Preparing the Wadding and Backing Fabric:

• Backing fabric should be at least 4”-6” larger than the quilt top on all sides, to accommodate loading it onto the quilting machine.
• If you are using your own wadding, please make sure that it is the same size as the backing fabric.
• If you need to join the backing fabric, first remove the selvedge and stitch using ½ “seam allowance, press the seam open.
• Again, if this is directional, please mark as above.

Things to Avoid:

• Please do not baste your quilt as I load the layers separately onto the rollers.
• Please do not use polyester fabric or sheets for backing.
• Please do not embellish with buttons, beads, bows etc before quilting. You can of course add these after quilting.

Any remedial work that needs to be done to your quilt by myself could potentially mean an increase to the original estimate. This will be discussed with you before work commences.

Basting quilt preparation is the same as for Edge-to-Edge, so please see above.

Custom quilting is priced accordingly to each quilt on a bespoke basis.
If you would like to go ahead and purchase our long arm quilting service please select the size of your quilt, binding choices and add these to the basket ready to check out, this will include your return postage options, then just post your quilt to us! Upon receiving your quilt we will be in contact with a personal consultation to decide the best design options for your work! Don’t forget to include all contact details!
